    The Heart of Rural Nursing Series

    The following webinars are intended to share insights about issues impacting rural nursing in the state of South Dakota in the United States. During this series, attendees will learn about the similarities and differences impacting rural health in this corner of the world and have the opportunity to better understand how certain issues, such as substance abuse, mental health and staffing, affect rural communities regardless of the geographic location.

    The Heart of Rural Nursing: Addressing Vast Healthcare Staffing Challenges in Rural Communities of South Dakota

    The University of South Dakota and the Global Rural Nursing Exchange Network partner to continue our conversation on "The Heart of Rural Nursing in South Dakota". This 60-minute webinar will feature nursing students from USD who will share their clinical experiences working in rural communities across the state. Through this webinar, they will discuss staffing challenges occurring in rural South Dakota healthcare facilities, identify the impact that staffing shortages are having on he delivery of healthcare in rural communities, and recognize available resources and initiatives to improve staffing challenges in rural healthcare facilities.

    The Hearth of Rural Nursing: Getting to the Root of Mental Health Care in Rural Communities of South Dakota

    The University of South Dakota and the Global Rural Nursing Exchange Network partner to continue our conversation on "The Heart of Rural Nursing in South Dakota". This 60-minute webinar will feature nursing students from USD who will share their clinical experiences working in rural communities across the state. Through this webinar, they will discuss the variety of mental health issues occurring in rural communities across South Dakota, recognize the impact that mental illness has on the healthcare system in rural communities, and identify mental health resources available.

    Rural Nursing Innovation Webinar Series

    New for 2024, GRNEN is launching the Rural Nursing Innovation Webinar Series to display and celebrate innovations in rural nursing. During the months of September - December, we will feature researchers, rural nurses, and nursing students who will showcase research that highlights the advancement of Rural Nursing Innovation and celebrates innovative practices that address unique challenges and opportunities in rural healthcare settings.

    GRNEN is currently accepting a call for abstracts for rural nurses, nurse educators, researchers and nursing students who are interested in participating in this series and being recognized as a leader in the international community of rural nursing.
