IN THIS LESSON
For this objective, you will evaluate the impact of your health promotion resources and messages on identified population health outcomes.
EVALUATION
An important step in any community development project is determining if the planned outcomes have been achieved. This is the evaluation stage, and there are many ways to complete it. This may involve measuring specific outcomes such as the number of recorded visits, measuring financial outcomes, or engaging the community members in surveys and focus groups where they express their thoughts.
This video provides an overview of Community-Based Evaluation.
The story map included here was created for the City of Edmonton in Canada to assist in understanding the community development process. The story map depicts how the evaluation of community development is integrated into the design process. Importantly, there is a need to understand internal and external factors affecting the community while also exploring its strengths and goals.
